Breakfast was continental self serve. Bagels, fruit, cereal, and packaged pastries. Coffee was fresh. Great location. Walking distance to restaurants and beach.

The decor is beautiful. I hadn't know before my stay that the famous architect Julia Morgan, who designed Hearst Castle, also designed this hotel. The framed architectural drawings of hers on display were lovely! It was quiet and ever so picturesque from the upstairs, ocean-view side. I appreciate that they were cleaning and refreshing towels only every other day, given the extreme drought and low water table in the county. Also my daughter had work meetings the morning of our checkout and we were allowed a late checkout for no additional price. The security of the hotel was reassuring as well.

Location was convenient to all local activities. The room was well appointed and spacious. Breakfast was more than we anticipated. Parking was free and convenient. We rated the shower an A! The staff was friendly and helpful.

We love this wonderful old hotel. We stay here at least 2 times a year. The architecture is lovely and Julia Morgan has drafts of Hearst castle adorning the wall. The pipes make noise, no air conditioning, bathrooms are dark. We love every nuance of this place. The location if perfect. We are near the castle and Cambria. The beaches below the hotel are very nice! We are local and love San Simeon ❤️. Staying at the hotel is like going back in time. Even though we live only 45 minutes south, the unobstructed view of the ocean is marvelous!

It is our go to hotel when we visit San Simeon. Location is great facilities and rooms are clean and staff are friendly.

The room was beautiful and spacious. Close to Hearst Castle and downtown Cambria. Close walk to the beach. The paintings decorating the hallways were details of Hearst Castle and very charming. The Morgan, I assume is named for Julia Morgan, one of the first female Architects who worked on design of Hearst Castle. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Good breakfast and comfortable rooms, nice staff. View from the room to the ocean. Beach, shops and restaurants are in walking distance. Few miles from sea lion view point.

Customer service was excellent, check-in was smooth. The concierge got us toothbrushes for my kids who had forgotten theirs! They also ended up printing something for us and giving us some extra paper. Super friendly!

The staff was exceptional. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and professional. They gave great advice for dinner nearby and were generally very kind. The room was very clean and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was with an ocean view and a gas fireplace. That was a nice touch. If you are there to see the Hearst Castle (closed until spring 2022 I think) walk around the hotel to see the framed plans and drawings from the original castle build--they are gorgeous. Overall we would highly recommend to anyone traveling in the area. Free parking is plentiful and we had a nice meal at the restaurant next door on the patio.
